Lizzo says she is ready to face her ongoing legal battle head-on, insisting she is not backing down and would testify in court if the case goes to trial.

Speaking in an interview with Gayle King on CBS, the singer made it clear she has no plans to settle the lawsuit filed by three former dancers in 2023.

The dancers accused her of creating a hostile work environment, including allegations of sexual harassment and weight-shaming, claims
Lizzo has repeatedly denied.

“I’m fighting the case because I know that it’s not true,” she said, adding, “Just like the fat shaming one is not true.” While some claims have been dismissed, others remain active as the case continues.

Asked whether she would take the stand, Lizzo did not hesitate. “Absolutely,” she said, adding that she would “look fabulous” doing it. Her reasoning, she explained, is simple: “The truth will come out.”

She also pushed back against how the situation has been portrayed publicly, saying, “The truth is less salacious than the headlines.” Because the case is ongoing, she said she cannot go into detail but admitted she “cannot wait for it to be dismissed.”

At the same time, the Grammy winner is preparing to release new music, with her upcoming album set to drop on June 5. Titled _“Bitch,”_ the project draws inspiration from songs by Meredith Brooks and Missy Elliott, both of whom used the word in a way she says reclaimed its meaning.

“I feel like what both of those women did was they pushed that word forward in a way that empowered it,” Lizzo said. “Like that’s a word that used to get hurled at women. It’s my favorite word.” The release follows a period where she put another project, _“Love in Real Life,”_ on hold. “I didn’t delay anything,” she explained. “I think that I have been working on an album and I put a lot of pressure on me for a long time… I’m here to make music. I’m here to give music to my fans.”

Lizzo also addressed recent attention around her weight loss, saying, “I released the anxiety I was going through. I released depression and I also released some weight on my body.”

She added, “I’m not a skinny person and I’m not trying to be,” explaining her approach was based on “calorie deficit, cardio and protein.”

Despite the legal challenges and public scrutiny, she remains focused on her work and her message. “I know the music is good and I know my heart is good,” she said. “So if I know that, I have nothing to worry about.”
